I purchased this Bosch Dishwasher because it looked lovely with the new kitchen appliance set. It is about the 5 home I've installed a Bosch Dishwasher in. And to be honest I'm kicking myself that I didn't go Bosch in this house from the beginning. It does a far nicer job than the one we pulled out. There's a reason BOSCH ID THE NAME IN DISHWASHER S!

The Bosch Benchmark dishwasher is a remarkable dishwasher. It is absolutely quiet. It does a superb job of cleaning and drying. I was able to connect it to our home wireless Internet without any difficulty. It tells us all sorts of things like when it done and when it needs rinse it salt refilled. It has a rinse hold option, but can only be accessed thru the mobile app. That's the only negative I can come up with. We got it on sale and it is definitely worth it!

The unit is as we all know the quietest on the market. They added a timer that shows how much time is left to finish the cleaning. The silverware holder is a step backwards.

Cleans and dries well. But this is not a heavy duty machine. The utensil rack rails are thin gauge metal and flimsy. Racks not heavy duty either. I would have expected a much better build quality for the high price

Decided to get this dishwasher for the water softener feature after tiring of dealing with hard water deposit in previous dishwasher. Have only had this one a month but is working fine other than the occasional not able to connect to app issue. Primarly writing this to document the interior blemish on the door that others have had issues with. Hopefully it doesn't rust through

3 stars for functionality, 5 stars for cleaning performance. This dishwasher does an amazing job at cleaning our dishes. So for that I highly recommend. However, it does have a few frustrating "features". The racks are difficult to use for a number of reasons. In the two months I've been using my machine, I still don't know the best way to load it. The top rack is OK (not great) but the bottom rack is bad. You can't put anything in the front half of the rack between the tines because everytime you push the rack in the dishes fall towards the back. I love having the flex tray at the top but the handle design is terrible and it is always coming loose. And on all the racks the tines that you can lay down never want to stay in place. The control panel has bright LED lights but the icons aren't lit up, which means at night when you want to use the machine you can't see the buttons because you're blinded by bright white light bars. Lastly, I put the machine online, which was handy for setting up washing cycles, but the other day it mysteriously disconnected from my phone and now I can't get the machine back online again.

This machine is impressive. It is the first appliance I have used where using the AUTOMATIC (instsead of choosing HEAVY or NORMAL) selection actually works well. Items come out extremely clean. And wow, how quiet!! Here are some points which address some of the negative reviews:
1. Instead of an indicator light, there is a count down timer that projects on the floor. When finished, the timer disappears.
2. When finished, water drops can still be found on the inside walls of the machine because of the drying technology used. Instead of bringing in outside air it uses temperature to draw the moisture from the hot dishes to the cool walls. This is much mitigated by using the CRYSTAL DRY option, which adds some time to the cycle.
3. Without the app, there are plenty of cycles available, and I do not miss not using the app. For the extra POWER CONTROL for the bottom rack, I can choose extra power for the FRONT or REAR of the rack, which is just fine for me. I think the app can reduce the power area to quadrants, or perhaps even all of the rack, but I don't find I need the app at all.

I've been using the Bosch SHX9PCM5N for a few months now, and honestly, it's one of those purchases I wish I had made sooner. The first thing I noticed was how unbelievably quiet it is-I actually had to check that it was running the first time I turned it on. But beyond that, the cleaning performance is just outstanding. I've put in everything from baked-on casserole dishes to greasy pans, and they come out spotless every time without me needing to pre-rinse.
What really makes a difference day-to-day is how thoughtfully it's designed. The racks are super flexible, and I love the third rack for utensils-it frees up so much space below. I can fit way more in a single load than I expected, which has cut down how often I run it. And the drying is seriously impressive, especially for plastics, which used to come out damp in my old dishwasher. With this one, everything is dry and ready to put away right away.
Overall, it just feels like a high-end, well-built appliance that makes life easier. The controls are simple, the app connectivity is actually useful, and it runs efficiently without me thinking about it. It's one of those appliances that quietly does its job so well that you forget about it-but in the best way. If you're on the fence, I'd absolutely recommend it-it's been worth every penny for me.

this machine is quiet and efficent. runs a full load almost everyday with multiple loads on holidays. the 3 rack system is easy to adjust to fit the dirty dishes. the bottom filter is easy access and not difficult to clean,would buy again.

I'm coming from a low-end Whirlpool dishwasher from the early '00s but man, the Benchmark is a step up! It's chock full of little details that make using a dishwasher better. I love the silverware drawer up top that can hold more pieces of silverware than I ever anticipate needing to wash in one go. The upper rack's adjustable height comes in handy multiple times a week to let me easily clean dishes of varying sizes. And the unit cleans dishes incredibly well. It is easily the nicest dishwasher I have ever owned or used.
It loses two full stars though. There are a few little details that are bothersome, like the door hinge feeling stiff and the door itself feeling less sturdy than dishwasher doors used to be. The door works fine but the feel isn't what I expect from something this high end. I also am bummed that there is no dedicated spot to add a smidgen of detergent for pre-wash. I know most people just use pods but prewash can really help and the lack of documentation on the matter leads to a bunch of people on the internet speculating about what you should actually do.
But the biggest issue with this dishwasher is that the controls are so mediocre. The buttons to control the dishwasher aren't real buttons, and not only that, the responsiveness is terrible. If you're going to sacrifice real buttons then at least make your screen respond immediately when I press the cheap feeling membrane buttons. For the first few days I struggled to actually figure out how to start a cycle on this, and it continues to be a thing that makes using this dishwasher feel a little worse every time I use it. And it's a regression too; I've seen previous year versions of this dishwasher with real buttons on top. A shame!
I love the dishwasher overall but a few bad decisions can really leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Had problems from beginning. Screws falling out. Replaced whole electric panel. Then started leaking on floor. Tub was cracked. Bosch only wants to give pro rated cost. Bought expensive appliance to have no issues. Never had a Bosch before AND I will never own another. They have done us dirty. Told different every time we talked to a new person. Also, had to get Home Depot to call to even get them to understand we bought it after showing several receipts. Ridiculous. Terrible Service, Terrible Product. Bad Business.

The dishwasher does a great job of cleaning the dishes, including pots and pans without all of the noise. The only time I know it is running is when the water is draining. The flexbility of the 3 racks is also great for fitting just about anything inside.

We got this model because it has a water softener. Our water is quite hard. The dishwasher does an excellent job of cleaning the dishes. It is so quiet that we can run it 20 feet from where we are watching TV and not have the show interrupted.
This model comes with a smartphone app that lets you control option, do delayed starts, and otherwise configure the dishwasher. Probably because of the app there are fewer physical controls on this model than on our previous Bosch dishwasher. This means you MUST use the app to do certain things. For instance ECO mode and Half Load are only selectable via the app. Same for various delayed starts. (There is a really nice delayed start setting that lets you pick optimum hours to run the dishwasher and selects the closest window to when you initiate the delayed start.)
There is a downside to this, though. The app has been rather tempromental for me. Sometimes for no apparent reason the app cannot connect to the dishwasher. Other times it will connect and perform some functions but will not successfully initiate a delalyed start. When one of these failures occurs the only way to get things working again is to get the dishwasher to reset. Sometimes the on button reset gets things back to normal. But sometimes it is necessary to remove power from the dishwasher for 15 minmutes.
So if the failure occurs when you are in a hurry to set some app option and get the dishes done you are out of luck;

Notice that all of the 5 star reviews are "incentivized" reviews before you buy. We bought a brand new Benchmark, had it professionally installed, and it broke within 7 days of install. Fewer than 5 loads. The timer projector stopped working. It's on backorder with no ETA for a replacement. Do our brand new top of the line dishwasher has been broken since the first week. Research before you buy.

The machine has been cleaning all of the dishes spotless. With the Home App, there are a lot of options to choose from in order to customize the cleaning program for the type of dishes, the size of the load, and the various materials of the dishes. The three racks can be individually configured and adjusted to best fit the load. Finally, the machine runs so quietly, I have wondered at times whether or not it is on.

I have never had a dishwasher that I was happy with. Even after scrubbing dishes before they went in, they rarely came out as clean as I would expect them to. I have tested this bad boy in every way possible. We haven't rinsed a dish in almost a month! The only thing it has not 100% destroyed was burnt on chili, instapot, and all it left behind was a TINY black spot. Every dish comes out sparkling. My mom always said there were "no little guys scrubbing dishes inside the dishwasher"....she never owned a Bosch!

It cleans everything so much better. My only criticism is that the unit does not have a delay setting on the unit. You have to use your phone with the app.

Purchased top of the line bocsch benchmark dishwasher. One of the main deciding factors for purchasing this unit was the projector that shines the remaining time on the floor. We had the unit professionally installed. Within 7 days and 3 washes, the projector broke. Called bosch immediately and set up a service appointment for 1 week out. Day off, within the service visit window (12-445) the agent called me to cancel because it was raining. I was rescheduled for 3 weeks later. Tech shows up, I explained the issue (after having already explained the issue on the phone) and tells me "oh we need to order a replacement part". Then proceeds to tell me the part is back ordered with no estimated delivery time. He was gone within 5 minutes, literally didn't even open the dishwasher. So now we're 1.5 months in with our brand new dishwasher with a core selling feature broken with no sign of it being fixed. Ridiculous. Avoid bosch, but any other product. Bosch does not stand behind their products.

This dishwasher replaced a similar ten year old Bosch dishwasher. Improvements over the previous model include the interior lighting and the Crystal Dry function. Does a great job of washing and drying.
My primary complaint is with the bottom and middle racks. The ball bearing rollers are nice, but the racks on my prior model had more adjustability of the tines in the bottom and middle racks. Also, I preferred the tine spacing on the prior bottom rack. Wish I had kept the old racks to see if they would fit.
Also I would prefer to have all functions available on the door rather than having to access some through the app.

Showed up my son, carried it into the kitchen, where I unboxed it remove the old dishwasher installed the new parts on the dishwasher slid in the space replumbed the drain installed the electrical box mounted the dishwasher to the side cabinets install the kickplate filled it with salt. Ran it for a one hour cycle right out of the gate worked great I love the Wi-Fi connection when I get out of the shower I can go on my phone and start my dishwasher.

I have owned Kitchenaide, GE and Bosch dishwashers and while I thought that my last Bosch was fantastic (sold the house that it lived in), this Bosch is truly amazing. The loading design handles Type A loaders and the slackers both very well. The lighting inside and the light that shines on the floor to tell you the the DW is on/progress in cycle are both fantasti features that I never knew I truly needed. This DW is worth every penny!

The dishwasher is quiet and does a good job at washing but the new drying technology is bad and the redesigned control panel is awful. None of the plasticware gets dried properly, and the touch buttons are annoyingly laggy. While I can understand the more gentle drying cycle I cannot get used to the touch controls.

We went from a Kitchen Aid to a Bosch and wished we had done so much sooner. The app is very helpful on letting us know when it has completed its cleaning cycle and when the drying liquid is low etc... The quailty and usability is A+. We can wash 25% more dishes in our Bosch more than our last dishwasher. We are now a Bosch family for life!
